By accessing or using BikeWatch.app ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
BikeWatch.app is a bicycle registration and stolen bike reporting platform. Users can register their bicycles, report thefts, and search for stolen bikes by serial number. Stolen bike reports are made publicly accessible to assist in recovery efforts and facilitate reporting to law enforcement.
3. User Accounts
You must create an account to register a bicycle or file a stolen report. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must provide accurate information when creating your account and keep it current.
4. Accurate Information
You agree to provide accurate and truthful information when registering bikes or filing stolen reports. Filing a false stolen report may constitute fraud and could result in civil or criminal liability. BikeWatch.app reserves the right to remove registrations or reports that appear to be inaccurate or fraudulent.
5. Public Information
Bike registration details (make, model, year, serial number, photos, and status) are publicly accessible to enable serial number lookups and assist law enforcement and the general public in identifying stolen bikes. Your personal contact information (name, phone, address) is never displayed publicly.
6. Prohibited Uses
You agree not to:
- Submit false or misleading bike registrations or stolen reports
- Use the Service to harass, stalk, or harm any person
- Scrape or bulk-download registration data for commercial purposes
- Attempt to identify or contact bike owners through this Service
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its servers
7. Intellectual Property
The BikeWatch.app name, logo, and original content are owned by BikeWatch.app. You retain ownership of photos and descriptions you upload, but grant BikeWatch.app a license to display and distribute that content as part of the Service.
8. Disclaimers
BikeWatch.app is provided "as is." We make no guarantees that the Service will help recover stolen bikes, that serial number records are accurate, or that the Service will be uninterrupted. We are not a law enforcement agency and cannot compel action by any party.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, BikeWatch.app shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
10. Account Termination
You may delete your account at any time from your Account Settings. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We will update the effective date above when changes are made.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
